Allan Scott Wines

Allan is a farm boy who began his career in viticulture when viticulture began in Marlborough. He physically helped plant the region’s very first vineyard in 1973. Many of the vineyards he developed subsequently have gone on to win world recognition.

As a senior manager in a national wine company in the 1980s, Allan extended his skills as part of the winemaking team. In 1985, he bought land in the Rapaura district of Marlborough. This was to become the home of the family winemaking venture. While their children have taken over many of the operational aspects, Allan still manages production overall.

In 1990, Allan Scott Family Winemakers was born – a true family affair. Allan and Catherine oversee every aspect of the venture. Their son, Josh, is the winemaker; while their daughters, Sara and Victoria are, respectively, viticulturist and marketing manager.
